SMPs Who Abuse The Regulations

Post by Urtica on Tue Oct 27, 2015 9:30 am

I won't name names, but you will know the SMPs this post is about

It about time that members of PIPIN got together and did something to help rein in the rampant abuses of the Regulations which certain SMPs are guilty of.

These SMPs manage to combine what can only be a personal hatred of disabled police officers and a deeply misinformed understanding of the scope and purpose of the Police (Injury Benefit) Regulations 2006 and associated caselaw, with a mercenary willingness to do whatever they think they can get away with in regard to reducing injury pension payments.

They are hired guns and a disgrace to the medical profession.

Most doctors heal. These SMPs harm.

We all accept that disabled former officers should be paid only the level of injury pension which their degree of disablement entitles them to. If an individual has seen a substantial improvement in their condition, then it is only right that their pension is revised.

What is completely unacceptable is when SMPs, working hand-in-glove with ignorant HR managers, deliberately set out to abuse the Regulations so as to produce a degree of disablement that is a false reflection of the individual's true capacity to work and earn.

We must now work together to find a legal choke chain to bring these dogs to heel.

If you believe that you have been a victim of malpractice by a SMP, then please send me a private message.
